From a global pandemic to political divides, and protests for justice and awareness being met with violence, it seems like there are more things driving us apart than keeping us together. As a nonprofit, our mission is to provide a platform for education and the exchange of ideas and information. While we focus on the changing trends, tools, and approaches to quality within the software industry, we also know that global events reach our community and affect it in many ways. And we want to recognize this as we go forward. Save the Date for PNSQC 2021: October 11-13th PNSQC in 2021 The era of a single individual creating a significant software system is an artifact of the past. Modern software systems are built by teams and groups of teams working together using hundreds of libraries and components, running across distributed networks and cloud systems. To implement quality software systems requires communication, alignment, synchronization, and a staggering array of specialists and experts to define and refine the working product. 2021 is a chance for reflection and sharing what you have learned about working together, better, while hundreds of other things conspire to derail the project and push you away from the goals. Join us October 11-13, 2021 for the 39th annual PNSQC, as leaders of the software engineering profession gather to discuss the latest trends in software development, QA, and testing. You’ll learn from those on the cutting edge — and have plenty of opportunities to socialize too, making new friends and contacts to build your professional and personal networks. No Thought is an Island We want to hear from you when the call for proposals opens in January. The PNSQC Program Committee will consider any level of subject matter — from beginner to theoretical. Although the 2021 theme is “Coming Together,” PNSQC is looking for any original topic on the process of improving software development. Proposals could come in the form of: Experience reports Quality problems and how you solved them Effective testing techniques Your experience with a new trend Your ongoing research Although authors are allowed to submit multiple proposals, each proposal should be limited to a single topic. Additionally, any individual author will only be accepted once as the primary author. All submissions must be received by April 15th, 2021. Submit your proposal now! After a proposal is accepted by the Program Committee, authors will work with reviewers over the summer to write a paper and create a presentation for the October 2021 conference. PNSQC 2021 is guaranteed to be held virtually — due to safety measures, we’re holding off planning any in-person gatherings just yet — so presenters will not need to travel to present at the conference.
